4 Tips about How to Brush Your Wigs

Once you've found the right wig brush for you, it's time to put it to good use! Combing a wig is a little more complicated and requires a little more care than combing ordinary human hair. There are a few rules to keep in mind.

1.Don't brush the wig when it's wet

This is important, especially if it is a wig for a person's hair. Your wig is at its most fragile and easily damaged when wet, so brushing it will permanently stretch and damage your wig. To avoid this, make sure your wig is completely dry before combing.

2.Brush from bottom to top

Wigs should be brushed from the bottom up. Brushing the wig down from the roots and tips can cause the comb to knot and pull the strands off the wig. So, start at the ends and work your hair into small sections, avoiding tugging and working your way up

3.Comb the curly wig with your fingers

When caring for curly wigs, it's best to comb them with your fingers, as brushes and combs can damage the curls and ruin the look.

4.The key to brushing wigs is to be gentle.

A wig is much more delicate than your own hair, and straining too hard can break the strands. Take your time and wait for the best!

Taking care to choose the right wig brush or comb while understanding how to brush your wig will help you properly maintain and care for your wig. Maintaining your wig isn't a daunting task, but if you do it right, it will pay off! For more tips on wig styling, please feel free to talk to our hairstylists at Malindahair
